the OB that has been mentioned to me that the men used is approx 12' x 30' long. it appears to have been constructed of shallow flint walls topped with corrugated sheeting this was then covered with chalk and topsoil. It has completely collapsed now but would appear large enough for for a full size OB. This OB may have been built at the begining by the Winfrith Aux patrol. It has also been mentioned that it could have been built by Polish POWs . As this OB is built this way with flint maybe it was built by the farmworkers to a given design? They would have been used to dry stone walling ect, but having dug chalk by hand myself it was a large undertaking for the men.

It is also possible that this OB was used by Harold after the Winfrith and Wool units were amalgamated with Broadmayne?? There is the remains of their OB which is closer to the railway, north of the main road.

I believe that Harold and his co workers were radio/wireless operatives as it is mentioned that Harold was the only contact for a operator on the Isle of Wight. they may have based themselves on the farm somewhere and moved to the OB as it may have been more secluded and easier to approach secretly. there are several different approaches to this OB.
